Re: Changes to Health Star Ratings (HSR) system and FoodWorks 10
Do you use FoodWorks 10 Nutrition Labelling (or FoodWorks 10 Premium) to produce Health Star Ratings for your products? If so, please read this important information.
***
IMPORTANT NOTICE - HSR CHANGES
As of 15 November 2020 calculations for the Health Star Rating system have changed. These HSR system changes come in response to a formal review process. Use of HSRs on food products remains voluntary.
Please be aware that FoodWorks 10 does not incorporate these latest HSR system changes, and therefore some Health Star Ratings produced using FoodWorks 10 will no longer be accurate nor compliant.
We advise you to refer to the Health Star Rating calculator available here to ensure that your HSR calculations comply with the new regulations.
In accordance with the new guidelines:
- For products labelled before 15 November 2020, food businesses have up to two years to implement the changes. For these products, their existing Health Star Rating graphic is deemed correct and compliant until 14 November 2022.
- For products labelled after 15 November 2020, HSRs on labels must comply with the new requirements.

To ensure that you will be able to continue to produce accurate and compliant Health Star Ratings using our software, these changes will be addressed with the release of Foodworks Online Nutrition Labelling in 2022.
We appreciate your patience and sincerely apologise for any disruptions caused during this period.
If you require any further information, please let us know.
Kind regards,
